What's at The Market on 26th September?

It's British Food Fortnight and we're celebrating in a small but tasteful way.


There will be Bacon baps - Teresa's tasty bacon and also some sausages from pigs reared by herself and Chris's baps ... I can smell them already ...


Marlene is making fresh Parsnip Soup at market, how lovely that will be.

We will have lots of preserves to taste, so if you've ever wondered what they are like, come along and try them and hopefully some Date Slices from the baked goods.

All of this as well as ... on the cakes ...
Lemon cakes, Double Chocolate Cakes, Flapjacks, Sponges, Buns, Marmalade cake, Honey loaf (made with Suffolk honey), Apple cake (made with home grown bramley apples), Banana bread, Chocolate brownies, Apple & blackberry/apple & cinnamon pies, soda bread, cheesey soda bread

On the savouries ...
Lasagnes (beef/mushroom & spinach), Quiches, Scotch eggs, Sausage & onion pies

On the fruit and veg stall ...
Potatoes, Onions, Shallots, Runner Beans, Tomatoes, Cues, Courgettes, Spinach, Chard, Beetroot and Apples

And also ...
Smoked Mackerel pate, smoked salmon pate and chicken liver pate,
Chris will have been busy making ...
White Sourdough, Miche, Baguettes, Cannelles and maybe Brioche..

Don't forget the fresh free-range chicken eggs, duck eggs, possibly quail eggs

The Bread is Back

Chris returned today with his delicious continental style bread.  It's so popular it was sold-out in less than an hour.  There will be more on the bread at a later date.

We had a wonderful array of cakes, savouries, preserves, fruit, vegetables and craft.

Amazingly our eggs didn't sell out, come on everyone, local fresh free-range eggs - what could be better for your omelettes? 

Don't forget orders can be taken on nearly everything and if there is something you would really really like, please ask, we can cook almost anything!
