October 31st

It's Halloween, 
There's no trick today, just lots of wonderful treats - take a look ...

A selection of 'Halloween themed' cakes and buns ~ Apple cakes ~ Toffee apples ~ Pumpkin pies

Fresh meat ... Sausages ~ pork
No bats, spiders or newts (shame ... my spells don't include sausages)

Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble ... in cauldrons these wonderful preserves have simmered, including ...
Crab apple jelly ~ Green tomato chutney ~ Brandy Mincemeat

Bread .... bread ... bread ... hand-made by Chris.
"Be he alive or be he dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread" - it's lucky for us that Chris isn't a giant (sorry I know that's not Halloween)

The stoves have been stoked for ...
Beef lasagnes ~ Ham and Leek au gratin (leeks wrapped in ham in white sauce, with a breadcrumb and cheese crispy topping) ~ A variety of quiches ~  Sausage and onion pies ~ Vegetable stock
Phew ... not a Bat Curry or Eye of Newt Soup in sight

The cake stall will have you under our spell once you've tasted ....
Plain sponges ~ Coffee and walnut sponge ~ Fruit cakes ~ Rocky road ~ Apple pies ~ Crunchy lemon cakes ~ Butter shortbread ~ Butter flapjacks ~ maybe apple pies! ~ Iced chocolate chip buns ~ Baked apples (stuffed with dry fruit and served with a butterscotch sauce)

Loads of vegetables and free-range eggs

New this week ... tamarind seed jewellery

How do we keep producing all these goodies each week ... magic!

We are in the Town Hall tomorrow, 9.30 - 12.30pm.

On the cakes ...
Plain sponge ~ Coffe & walnut sponge ~ Iced buns ~ Marmalade cake ~ Walnut Cake ~ Red velvet cake ~ Parsnip and maple syrup cake (my favourite) ~ Mocha cake ~ Buns ~ Gingerbread ~ Lemon cakes ~ Moist carrot cake ~ Teabread ~ Cheese and olive scones ~ Fudge.

Chris's wonderful assortment of bread ...

Free-range chicken eggs ~ duck eggs ~ lots of jars of preserves including honey.


Don't forget all the locally grown, chemical free ...

Orford Country Market 17th October 2009

Hi Everyone


Hope you have all had a good week.


The market will be in the Town Hall tomorrow.  


We open at 9:30 and close at 12.30. and look forward to seeing you all.  Come early.




This week we will have.................


Artisan Breads,  Soda Bread and Cheese and Chive Soda Bread


Lemon Cakes, flapjacks, shortbread, gingerbread, fruit cake, seed cake, spiced apple  cake, cherry and almond cakes, coffee crunch cake, rocky road, sponges and buns.


Steak, mushroom and ale pies, mushroom lasagnes, mini cheese and olive scones, sausage rolls, quiches, beef lasagnes, cauliflower cheese, sausage and onion pies, smoked salmon pate .



Local free range eggs


Bramley Apples


Hummus


Gorgeous honey from Gedgrave


Lots of jams and preserves and New this Week Sweet Onion Chutney


Refreshments will be available.


There will also be a wide selection of knitted items, patchwork quilts, cushions, appliqué kits, wheat bags filled with local wheatberries, lavender bags etc, etc etc.

Sponges (chocolate, plain) ~ Iced buns ~ Rocky Road ~ Mocha cake ~ Coffee Crunch cake ~ Crunchy Top Lemon Cakes ~ Gingerbread ~ Moist Carrot Cake ~ Cheese Straws ~ Rusks ~ Sausage rolls ~ Soda Bread ~ Cheesey Soda Bread.

Look out for the 'try before you buy' tasters for
Parsnip and maple syrup cake (delicious!) ~ Chocolate and beetroot brownies ~ Poppy seed cake .

On the savouries stall ...
Various quiches ~ Lasagnes (Beef or Mushroom and spinach) ~ Steak mushroom and ale pies ~ Sausage and onion pies ~ Cottage Pie ~ Cauliflower cheese

Mackerel Pate ~ Chicken Liver Pate.

A large selection of freshly picked vegetables

P.P.S. If you stitch, knit, crochet, spin, felt, embroider or anything needlecrafty, a new group is starting this Monday, 12th October, 7.30pm-9.30pm at Bart's Hall for you to come and stitch and chat, have tea, with other like-minded crafty people.

Good Morning and sorry for the late announcements.

Three bright, funky new cushions

I will be there with
cheese and olive scones, savoury muffins, mini chocolate and banana loaves, hummus and tapanade.  
I have a few wheatbags, (next batch ready soon).
